The subject of the assignment was the performance of thermal engineering calculations (curtain wall thermal transmittance coefficient and internal temperature factor checking) of the ground floor glass wall of the MOL Campus high-rise building in Lágymányosi, and where necessary, the assistance in the thermal engineering optimization of the structure with the help of thermal engineering simulations (thermal bridge simulations). Due to the architectural character of the building, the glass wall contained countless elements of various sizes, shapes, glazing and structures, not to mention the individual point-like elements. Based on a thorough analysis, the glass wall was broken down into discrete characteristic elements and, in order to ensure compliance, it was calculated with an approximation in favor of safety.
