Our company deals with the design, manufacture, construction and operation of various unique building physics, energy and thermal comfort on-site monitoring systems, as well as the expert evaluation of the measured results. When could a monitoring system be required:

The BCD Monitoring System

In addition to completely project-unique monitoring solutions, our company has also developed its own modular building physics monitoring system. This system is mainly optimized for industrial applications, where wireless data transmission may not be feasible, but it is usually easier to connect the elements with cables. However, we plan to adapt it to residential and public building environments, where wireless data transmission is more desirable.

The system consists of a central unit and any number of monitoring modules, which are strung together on a single central cable chain that provides both communication and power. The individual modules can handle a variety of sensor types in a virtually plug-and-play manner, with minimal individual configuration:

  • air temperature
  • temperature and humidity
  • mean radiant temperature (with bulb thermometer)
  • surface temperature (with thermocouple)
  • heat flux density
  • airflow velocity (with thermal anemometer)
  • etc.

The modules can also be placed outdoors, depending on the housing and sensor connection sockets.

The measurement is controlled by a central, internet-accessible and reconfigurable control box. The data is transmitted via the internet to our own servers, where they are available with a delay of a few seconds. The monitoring server is also our own development and facilitates the configuration, processing and display of the measurements. The customer can easily follow the measurements themselves via a graphical interface.
